Why life coaching?

Life coaching is a non-directive, collaborative conversation between coach and coachee that encourages significant changes in coachee`s life through questions, reflections, working with the coachee's patterns and different techniques. During the coaching process, clients are empowered to make new decisions about their life, work, relationships, and more. These can be as simple as deciding what to say to their colleague or as profound as deciding to leave a life partner.

The key point to note is that the coach encourages the client in making these decisions for themselves. There is no strict guidance from the coach, and it is exactly this element of the life coaching process that makes the impact and change so deep and significant for the client. The changes are autonomous and are under a safe, non-judgmental yet accountable framework.

Since we now have some idea about what life coaching is, let's discover some benefits of life coaching below.
What Is Life Coaching?
1. Help you understand your goals and life passions

Many of us struggle to understand what exactly we want from life, why we want it and how we can achieve it. To obtain a better idea of this, we need to have a clear idea of who we are, what makes life meaningful for us and gives us a sense of purpose. You can get this type of clarity when working with a life coach. During the coaching process you will understand who you are, unearth your skills, unique talents and gifts, and discover what gives your life meaning.

Getting to know yourself is the most important goal for the majority of people. With the help of a coach and the use of open, catalytic questions and deep listening, you will be clearer on what you really want, and on what direction and steps you need to take to get there.

2. Help you find a solution to specific problems
Life coaching is an awesome tool for life transformation, but it can also help with finding the most effective way to solve a specific problem or achieve a specific goal. In my opinion, every coaching session and relationship is unique. That`s why I strive to create a unique coaching process for every one of my clients, whether it's to achieve more or to solve a problem.

Whether your goal is to improve your relationships with significant others or to start your own business, working with a life coach can really assist you in identifying specific obstacles or barriers that might be preventing you from achieving your goals and overcoming them. It is often difficult to see the situation exactly for what it is when you are knee-deep in it. A life coach will help you to see the situation from a different perspective and find new creative solutions.
3. Improve your well-being and ability to stay in present

Modern life is hectic, there’s no two ways about it. When we have a specific goal that we are striving to achieve, we feel like a hamster on a wheel, endlessly running on and on, . Feeling like this, it is so very easy to miss out on one of the most important, and enjoyable parts: life itself.

I use mindfulness techniques in my work and teach them to my clients. Using these techniques helps one stay in the present moment, while remaining calm and focused. It will also allow you to find joy in life’s simplest things that are happening in the here and now, as opposed to constantly thinking about and striving toward the big, future goals.
4. Walk you through the goal-setting process and develop a road-map towards your goal

Setting you goals is not always an easy process. Short-term goals are difficult to plan because of an evolving wave of thoughts, wants, and beliefs, and longer-term ones can often be difficult to visualize in the present. However, an understanding of where you would like to be in the future and the steps to get there, are a key element to achieving anything in life.

By creating a safe expressive space and asking open, reflective questions a life coach will guide you through the difficult process of goal-setting by improving your understanding of both your immediate as well as your future wants and needs.

I also help my clients achieve these goals by creating a plan of action with clear steps towards desired outcomes. The client therefore has just to follow this plan. On each following session we acknowledge the progress and modify the plan when required. My clients are never left alone on this long and challenging journey.
5. Help you to boost your productivity

Do you wish a day had more than 24 hours? Often this request is less about lack of time, and more about how you currently spend yours. Focusing on increasing productivity can provide a solution to a lack of time and this is another area that a life coach can you help with.

I often work on putting in place various routines and tasks for my clients. All of my clients confirm that after working with me they are able to make better use of their time and even achieve more in less hours. This is how you can achieve your goals faster and more effectively.

Furthermore, by being more productive you gain another benefit – more quality time with your family and friends! Time is the only unrecoverable resource in life and I think this outcome is more valuable than any other.
6. Increase your self-awareness

This is one of the most important targets to keep in mind if you’re serious about achieving your goals and growing as a person. It is also at the core of every effective coaching relationship. A greater level of self-awareness will boost all other outcomes of life coaching.

It is difficult to overstate the value of uncovering the layers of who you are in this current moment – what you are thinking, what challenges you find difficult, what drives you forward, how you are behaving, the beliefs and assumptions that you have, which strengths you possess, what your current weaknesses are, and where you are becoming stuck. Doing this can help you make sure your goals are genuinely the right ones for you and make it much easier to move forward in a way that works well for you.
7. Help With Accountability

There are many reasons why we don't achieve our goals. It can be due to distraction by life’s interjections, or stem from a struggle to prioritize time effectively.... or simply a loss of every ounce of motivation at some point! Life coaching is a perfect tool to address all of these problems.

Accountability is a key element in the pursuit of your dreams and goals. We often aren’t great at following through with things when we are the only ones holding ourselves accountable, and so this added accountability means that you are being held responsible for taking actions by someone other than yourself. In sharing your goals with your life coach, you will be much more likely to make progress with them, and you will do it more quickly too (scientifically proven!) Working with a life coach will help you stay on track in following your purpose.
8. Help you to re-boost your thinking, assumptions and beliefs

Our assumptions and beliefs are often the main obstacles on our way to a dream life. Life coaching is an effective tool to replace your old ineffective patterns and gain new, positive ones.

Life coach is able to help you to become more aware of these limiting beliefs, thoughts and assumptions that might be stopping you from moving forward. Further in the process of working with a coach as you begin to uncover these patterns, you will also identify various strategies that allow you to challenge and re-frame them too, which converts them from obstacles to stepping stones.
